Burgess Hill U10s (220/12) lost to Lewes Priory CC (277/6) by 57 runs.
After the super win last week, captain for the day Jake Armstrong lost the toss and Burgess Hill were put in to bat. Henry Fortune and Tobias Hockaday opened the batting and both defended their wickets well without being out in their 4 overs. Oli O’Reardon in pair 2 also defended his wicket well adding 3 runs without losing his wicket. Both Henry Short and Hayden Wickwar managed to find the boundary with the bat adding vital runs to the total.
Burgess Hill then lost 12 wickets, with 6 of these being clean bowled (4 caught and 2 run outs making up the remainder), highlighting the importance in this age group of defending the straight ball.
Standout performances from a bowling perspective were from Oli O’Reardon who bowled his 2 overs conceding just 3 runs with both a clean bowled and a run out coming from his spell and from the final pair of Jake Armstrong bowling 2 maiden overs and Hayden Wickwar conceding just 3 runs from his 2 overs.
