Burgess Hill (299 for 4) beat Poynings (234 for 7) by 65 runs.
The under 10s travelled to Poynings for their 3rd fixture of the season. Captain for the day Henry Fortune won the toss and put the opposition into bat. The 7 wickets were shared out amongst the bowlers, with Hayden Wickwar taking 2 wickets from the final 2 bowls of his spell supported by a great catch from George Kaye. The boys all fielded very well indeed and should be proud in restricting the opposition to 224 runs after 20 overs.
Coming in to bat Henry Fortune and Onubhab Hossain got us off to a good start adding 17 runs without loss after the first 4 overs. The rest of the boys all defended their wickets well throughout the 20 overs including Ted Cornish playing with a superbly straight bat. Jake Armstrong top scored on the day with 13 runs, including 2 well struck fours to a long off-side boundary.
A big well done to al the boys making that 2 wins from the first 3 games of the season.
